GENERAL DUTIES:
Oversees the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources function.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1.
Responsible for recruitment of personnel.
Manages the logistics of the recruiting process.
Maintains accurate and timely job postings.
Sorts and reviews resumes and maintains a filing system that retains qualified applications.
Conducts new hire screening, background checks and verification of credentials.
Schedules and participates in interviews.
Consults with CEO for salary offer.
Extends offer and schedules orientation.
Complete candidate offer letter packet.
2.
Maintains all personnel files in a complete and accurate manner.
Updates employee phone directory and maintains a database of employee contact information.
3.
Enters new hire data into all electronic health record, benefits and regulatory hiring databases and maintains accurate and up to date records of staff information.
4.
Conducts new employee orientation and training including all new hire paperwork, tax forms, benefits enrollment forms.
Reviews all required agency policies, distributes agency property and maintains records of such distributions, coordinates office space, technology needs, and supervisory responsibilities during orientation.
Enrolls and assigns related trainings in agency learning management system.
Tracks employee training records.
5.
Responsible for overseeing FMLA, ADA, EEOC, Affirmative Action, and other regulatory programs and reports to external entities, including maintaining current policies, implementation, and tracking.
6.
Completes all Unemployment Insurance paperwork in a timely manner to ensure the lowest possible claim exposure the agency as is permitted by law.
Conducts appropriate workplace investigations, supporting disciplinary matters as appropriate, and assuring appropriate documentation is maintained in support of any adverse actions taken.
7.
Annually participate in and help lead the benefits renewal process including coordinating efforts with agency benefits broker, coordinating employee open enrollment, processing changes with payroll, and recordkeeping.
8.
Prepares and maintains periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
9.
Serve as point of contact for employees on accessing, utilizing, and problem solving their agency benefits.
10.
Promotes human resources programs to create an efficient and psychologically healthy workplace and encourages positive morale among staff.
11.
Conducts exit interviews and reports findings to administration.
12.
Performs other related duties, as assigned, or as necessary for effective and efficient operation of the program and/or the organization.
CREDENTIALS/CHARACTERISTICS:
1.
Degree or equivalent education in Human Resources or proven experience as an HR generalist, manager, coordinator, or assistant.
Certification such as SHRM or HRCI preferred but not required.
2.
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
3.
Excellent organizational skills.
4.
Basic computer skills in data entry, and an operational knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, sufficient to devise a document, create and utilize a simple spreadsheet and manage a basic database.
5.
Capacity for self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously.
6.
Ability to relate effectively to coworkers at all levels of the organization.
7.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and deal appropriately with sensitive issues.
8.
A valid driver's license, evidence of personal automobile insurance and of insurability by the organization's automobile liability insurance carrier; or, in the absence of such documentation, the ability to complete the essential functions of the position within whatever driving and travel restrictions might be imposed by the Center.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
