Quick Apply Full-time 22 hours ago Full Job Description Guidewire Project Manager - Wooster, Ohio (permanent, on-site) The Project Manager leads assigned projects to ensure delivery of specified business capability within schedule and budget.
The Project Manager closely interacts with management, business partners, and client staff to provide overall project management.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Project plan creation, resourcing plans, sprint cycle plans, and project charter creation.
Project status and reporting against documented sprint cycle and resource plans.
Manages project risks and issues - effectively mitigating and escalating risks and issues.
Leads and Facilitates project team meetings (e.
g.
, inception, sprint iteration planning, daily stand ups, retrospectives, issue resolution, etc.
).
Track and report changes in requirements or scope utilizing the change control process.
Identify and remove roadblocks that impede progress.
Challenge and motivate team members to drive for task completion.
Ensure adherence to client program / project processes.
Recommend changes to program and project process to ensure best practices are instituted.
Ability to evaluate work or initiatives previously started and suggest best path forward to work toward completion.
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
The project manager will direct assigned project staff activities as required in a matrix managed environment.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university or comparable work experience.
Guidewire experience is required.
Five or more years of experience as a Program and/or Project Manager for high-performing teams.
Experience with Rally, MS Project, and SharePoint highly preferred.
Demonstrated software/application and technology hands-on experience directing projects under both traditional waterfall and Agile / iterative project management methodologies.
Knowledge of software development methodologies, processes, and project governance.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), organization and leadership skills.
The successful individual can effectively and clearly communicate with departmental, and company personnel via telephone, e-mail, and one on one in a highly professional manner.
Ability to take direction in a matrix-managed environment while balancing tasks and priorities.
Demonstrated ability to use the full functions of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
